Our Directors

Who manages the Foundation?

The Board of Directors determines the Foundation’s strategic direction aims and priorities, ensures projects reflect community needs and funds raised are distributed and invested effectively and appropriately.

Directors are drawn from the wider Boroondara community and provide their time and expertise free of charge. They bring a wide range of skills and expertise to further the development of the Foundation.

OUR DIRECTORS

TRICIA SZIROM - CHAIRPERSON

Profession: Social Policy and Organisational Development Consultant

Educational Qualifications: PhD Education (Monash), BA Geography (Monash), Graduate Diploma Group Work (Swansea Wales), Dip Youth Leadership.

Past Experience: National President YWCA, Board International Development Agency, Board ACOSS, World YWCA Trainer and Facilitator, President Youth Affairs Council Australia, Founder and Director Success Works.


DENBIGH RICHARDS (ACTING CHAIRPERSON)

Profession: Public and not-for-profit Administration and Social Work

Educational Qualifications: BA Dip Social Studies; Dip Criminology (Melb Uni); Master of Social Work (Uni of Michigan)

Past Experience: Director of Community Corrections (VIC); Director of Corrective Services (TAS); Executive Director SEARCH Association, Disability Employment Service


MICHAEL HILLS - TREASURER

Profession: Accountant

Educational Qualifications: B.Ec.(Hons); CPA; Registered Tax Agent; Advanced Management Programme - Australian Administrative Staff College

Past Experience: Senior Economics; Corporate Planning; Managerial & Financial Control positions in major Australian Bank; Victorian Public Service; 15 years specific experience in not for profit sector including establishment of trusts; Foundation Director & Company Secretary of the Melbourne High School Foundation Ltd

ANN ELKINS
Profession: Health Management, with a nursing background

Educational Qualifications: Post Basic Certificate in Community Health (Gerontology) from the Royal District Nursing Service, Graduate Diploma in Community Nursing from Victoria University, and Graduate Diploma of Health Services Management through Monash University. Currently completing Master of Health Services Management through Monash University

Past Experience: Currently a General Manager at Knox Community Health Service. Over 25 years experience in the health sector, specialising in the interface between the primary, sub-acute & acute care sectors. Career path has been motivated by a passion for improving outcomes and choice through effective relationships across sectors. Ann has lived in Boroondara for over 10 years, and her children attend school in the Boroondara area.

NOEL HALFORD

Profession: Retired Human Resources Manager

Education Qualifications: Diploma of Personnel & Industrial Relations Management (Part completed)

Past Experience: Retired in 2003 following a career in senior human resources and industrial relations management spanning 35 years in both Australia and the U.K. with the Courtaulds Group and later the Akzo Nobel Industrial Coatings Group. Actively involved with Rotary from 1984 having held key roles with the Rotary Club of Hawthorn and the Rotary Club of Swindon Oldtown U.K. Appointed a Paul Harris Fellow in 1988. Elected President of the Rotary Club of Hawthorn 2006 -2007.

Educational Qualifications: Dip. Business Studies RMIT (Inc.)

Past Experience: CEO – MyPostie Pty Ltd; R&D in IT & Telecommunications; 30 Years experience in IT & Business; Past President Rotary Club of Balwyn; Past President Balwyn Basketball Club; Resident of Camberwell/Boroondara since 1949.

HELEN WORLADGE

Profession; Managing Director, NSE Consulting.

Education: Trained Infant Teacher Certificate (Ballarat College), 1st Honours - Department of Education. Bachelor of Education (Latrobe) Master of Education (Monash).

Past Experience: Principal, Sandringham Primary from 1992 - 2000. Executive Director, Western Chances 2004 - 2009. Council member of the Eastern Metropolitan ACFE. Member of the United Way Board. Deputy Chair, Sandringham Community Bendigo Bank. Committed to volunteering her expertise at Board level in various not for profit fields.
